A progress shot on the junkyard level + my fence kit. That skybox is the most placeholdery skybox of all time, haha, look at the brush strokes. This uses the dirt texture I showed as well as a “junkpile” texture that will be improved with environment props to break up the shapes a bit.
I made a very simple build kit for the fences, there’s a few different pieces that can be mushed together to make a complete chain link fence. I tried something kind of weird for it and it worked really well, I like how it lights a lot. That said, we don’t have shaders in yet, I am pretty sure our tech artist and/or programmer has PLANZ for how this should look and we aren’t there yet, so this is just a UE3 light or two, pretty basic stuff. I know I totally drew the junkyard level teal and gold in the poster, but we really wanted to have it at sunrise/sunset.
Oh yeah and the thing in the middle is a throwable giant duck. Things in the background will become a crane and a water tower.
